On 31st August - 1st September we had two teams competing at the renowned Tribal Clash competition in Devon.
Tribal Clash is a true test of teamwork, strength, and endurance. It’s not your typical fitness competition—it pushes every participant to their limits across a variety of disciplines. Held on the beach, the event adds an extra layer of challenge as teams navigate through sand, water, and unpredictable elements. Make sure you read to the end to check out the full gallery of images capturing all the action!
Each team compete in a series of workouts designed to test different aspects of fitness. These include everything from lifting heavy atlas stones, navigating rope climbs, and carrying the infamous “worm” as a team, to paddle boarding in the ocean and running on the sandy terrain. Each heat demands a unique combination of strength, endurance, agility, and, most importantly, teamwork.
We caught up with Coach Tom after the event to get his thoughts on the weekend, and it’s safe to say he loved the experience.“The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, there were drums playing, and the energy on the beach was just incredible. It’s a really cool team event where you really have to work together. Every workout tested different aspects of fitness—strength, endurance, coordination. It’s a true test of how well you can function as a team.”
When asked about his personal highlight, Tom shared, “Our team did really well on the run, finishing 4th after the workout (over 120 competed!!), which was awesome! The after party was great - we partied hard, Leo style!”
As for preparation, Tom shared how the team had put in the work ahead of time. “We had the team come in on the weekends to practice with all the gear—the atlas stones, the ropes, the worm. We even went out to Bray to practice the paddleboard section.”
Looking ahead, Tom is already excited about next year. "Yeah, for sure I'll be attending again—it was so much fun. It would be great to get even more teams from Leo there. It’s a tough competition, but it’s worth challenging yourself."
Finally, Tom had some advice for anyone thinking about joining the next Tribal Clash. “It’s such a fun event and a great challenge to set as a goal. It’s different from anything else out there and really puts you out of your comfort zone. Plus, it’s worth the trip down to Devon—it’s an experience you won’t forget.”
